New Trim Level

Honda has added a new trim to the 2021 Honda Pilot: the Special Edition (SE). It is placed between the EX-L trim and the Touring Trim. It comes with many premium features found on the Touring trim, such as a wireless device charging pad and a hands-free power liftgate. Black 20-inch wheels, black roof rails, a black grille, and black skid garnishes are standard.

Standard Powertrain

The 2021 Honda Pilot LX, EX, EX-L, SE, and Touring have standard FWD and available AWD. The 2021 Honda Pilot Elite and Black Edition only come with AWD. Every 2021 Honda Pilot has a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood. It pumps out 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Every 2021 Honda Pilot now has a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters which was previously only available on the 2020 Honda Pilot Touring, Elite, and Black Edition trims. The efficiency-focused Idle Stop feature is now found on every 2021 Honda Pilot as well.

Updated Features

Dual-zone automatic climate control is now standard on every 2021 Honda Pilot model. This feature was standard for the EX trim and above on the 2020 Honda Pilot. The 2021 Honda PIlot Black Edition also gets some customization updates. It is available in the classic Crystal Black Pearl and the newly-added Platinum White Pearl exterior paint colors. Both exterior color choices retain all other classic Black Edition cosmetic and design elements.
