2016 Honda Accord South Bend, IN
A midsize sedan can often be a vehicle that many drivers view as a vehicle that offers a bland A to B drive. With many changes for the new model year, the 2016 Honda Accord in South Bend, IN offers some significantly more exciting than the typical experience. Thanks to changes in features, the sedan from Honda is also more comfortable, while also creating a more convenience-filled experience. And though the same engines have returned from the year before, we find this to be a good thing with the mixture of power and fuel efficiency that they provide.
The new Accord now comes with a 60/40 split folding rear seat. This gives drivers a more flexible interior that makes it easier to get a bit more creative with cargo. Another addition to the back row is the option for heated seats, creating a comfortable experience for all drivers. On the exterior we find two new changes of importance in the rain sensing wipers and the parking sensors, leaving one less thing to worry about and making it easier to fit into tight spaces.
With a sport trim, two engine options and the available paddle shifters, the 2016 Honda Accord offers an exciting experience thanks to the level of power offered by the 278 horsepower produced by the 3.5L V6.
Drivers will have their choice of the 2016 Honda Accord with either the 2.4L four-cylinder of the 3.5L V6, each of which offers an ideal mixture for both performance and fuel efficiency.
The 2.4L engine offers an increased highway mpg rating, bringing the base model's fuel economy rating to 27 city and 37 highway mpg*. The V6 remains similarly efficient at 23 city and 34 highway mpg*.
Engine Power and Safety Features
We are glad to see the 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6 return for the 2016 model year. The first of these options, found on the lower trims, gives drivers 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque while offering a fuel economy rating of 27 city mpg and a newly increased 37 highway mpg. The V6 increases the power to 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque and retains most of the efficiency found in the first of the two options.
The list of standard and available active safety features matches the two engines in their ability to impress. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and road departure mitigation don’t just make you safer, they offer a second set of eyes on the road and give you less to think about. This makes the Honda Accord an exciting vehicle that also relaxes you.
